Disability Discrimination and the Mental Health Crisis

This presentation will focus on how to manage mental health concerns in the workplace. Addressing these issues can be a delicate balance. On the one hand, employers empathize with mental health struggles. While on the other hand, employers are uncertain how to manage work performance or conduct concerns that may be related to an employee’s mental health challenges. This presentation will use case law to outline best practices on how to manage performance concerns and engage in the interactive process without appearing to “regard” someone as being disabled.
