Woods Aitken is recognized in The National Law Journal’s Top 100 Verdicts of 2016 report for its work on the Jacobs Engineering Group v. ConAgra Foods Inc., case in association with Baker & Hostetler LLP. In March 2016, a Nebraska state jury awarded $108,913,521 to Jacobs Engineering Group Inc., finding ConAgra Foods Inc. negligent and responsible for causing a 2009 North Carolina plant explosion that killed four workers and injured more than 60. The $108.9 million verdict is ranked No. 17 in the top 100 verdicts of 2016. The verdict was, at the time of the March award, more than double the largest state court verdict in Nebraska history.
